How to install the Strong 8K app on Android and Fire TV using Downloader

Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, and most Android TV boxes have no web browser, so you cannot download an APK the way you would on a phone. The free Downloader app by AFTVnews is the standard way around this: you install Downloader once from your device store, then enter a short numeric code that points at the file you want. For Strong 8K that code is 5322729. The whole process takes about five minutes and you only have to do it once.

1. 1Install the Downloader app on your device

   From the home screen, open the app store on your device: the Amazon Appstore on Fire TV, or the Google Play Store on Android TV, phones, and tablets. Search for Downloader, select the orange icon by AFTVnews, and choose Install or Get. It is free.

   On Fire TV you can also hold the voice button on the remote and say "Downloader" to jump straight to it.

2. 2Allow apps from unknown sources

   Android blocks installs from outside the store until you approve them. On Fire TV, go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, and turn on Install Unknown Apps for Downloader. On Android TV, go to Settings, then Security and Restrictions, then Unknown Sources, and enable Downloader. On a phone or tablet, Android will simply prompt you the first time and you tap Allow.

   If Developer Options is hidden on Fire TV, open Settings, My Fire TV, About, then click the Fire TV Stick name seven times to unlock it.

3. 3Open Downloader and enter code 5322729

   Launch Downloader and stay on the Home tab. Select the URL box in the middle of the screen, clear anything already in it, and type 5322729 using the on-screen keyboard. Do not add http, www, or any dots. Then select Go.

   The code is a shortcut for the official Strong 8K APK on strong8k.watch, so you never have to type a long address with the remote.

4. 4Let the Strong 8K APK download

   Downloader shows a progress bar while it fetches Strong8Kturbo.apk from strong8k.watch. On a normal home connection this takes well under a minute. Leave the screen open until it finishes.

5. 5Install the app

   When the download completes, Android shows an install screen listing the app permissions. Select Install in the bottom right, wait for the confirmation, and then select Done rather than Open so you can free up space first.

6. 6Delete the installer file

   Downloader asks whether you want to delete the APK it just downloaded. Choose Delete, then Delete again to confirm. The Strong 8K app is already installed, and removing the installer keeps space free on the device.

7. 7Open Strong 8K and sign in

   Go back to your home screen and open the Strong 8K app. Enter the username and password from your Strong 8K order email, or the Xtream or M3U details you were sent, and let the app load your channel list.

   If your device asks for a MAC address instead, copy it from the app screen and send it to Strong 8K support so your playlist can be linked to it.

That is the full install. Downloader stays on your device, so if you ever need to reinstall the Strong 8K app, just open Downloader and enter 5322729 again.
